Kris Goertzen

I really didn't know what was going on in my life to make me so miserable, and the harder I tried to fix it, the worse it became. I could not fix it. I tried to study my Bible harder, longer, do more Bible studies, cry out to God (for the wrong things, now that I can see a bit more clearly), and most of my issues are deeply rooted in humility. It's so deeply rooted, it's choking the life out of me! I learned early in my life to protect myself the only way I could, and my survival method was to put up SO many walls. I was still waiting for apologies and for those who hurt me to seek forgiveness. My world is very small now, and I know this is not the life of forgiveness and freedom that God planned for me, his child, especially when my precious Savior bore my burdens and penalties. My pity party can STOP NOW, and I need to relearn to live in God's love, grace, and mercy, stop beating myself up, and expand my world, in faith and with his Word, so I can stop shrinking back and resume serving with the humility a woman of God, a true-Christ follower, an armor bearer, and person living under the LORD'S umbrella of protection and peace would/should/can. As soon as I did this first module, I began to see the flaws just illuminate. It hurts and cuts deep. But, I also celebrate as the sin is brought before my eyes to see it, because everything I surrender to my Heavenly Father can and will be healed as he wills. It's amazing to me how easily pride, frustration, anger, jealousy, and all those things can hide underneath and mask themselves. I look forward to continuing, at a slower pace due to my health and visual limitations, but after my eyes were truly opened and I am aware now, I can't ignore it and don't want to let it have a stronghold any longer. Thanks for sharing this teaching and God's Word. I can't wait to continue and continue and continue . . . it will be a constant work in me, and that is OK! Blessings!

When Kris' Adorned With Humility showed areas in my life that were prideful and displeasing to the Lord, I was shocked!  I never considered I had pockets of pride in my life. Kris helped me clearly see what needed to change. This study is truly God honoring and full of His wisdom. I was indeed blessed and changed by Kris'  teaching and guidance.   

Before this study I thought I practiced being humble on a daily basis, but I quickly realized I was really focusing on myself rather than on the Lord! Ugh! I am so thankful the Lord graciously used "Adorned with Humility" to show me I was seeking self glorification instead of pleasing Him! I had so much to learn and am forever grateful my eyes and heart were opened to pride in my life. Open your heart up to what He has to teach you, you won't regret it!

We all need "Adorned With Humility" every day of the year! When I studied this with Kris, the trials and pressures of life were heavy. My husband was being misunderstood and misinterpreted, I was juggling a newborn, a toddler and homeschooling 2 small children. She helped me dive into the Word and find rich truths that brought help and healing to my soul.

Hi Kris, I'm loving the heartwork, but is it possible to adjust the color of the text so that it is a little darker? It would just be easier on the eyes and the reading glasses. If not, I'll still be happy. :) theresa

Kris has an incredible heart for women! With her solid biblical teaching and engaging personality she is a delight to listen to and learn from as she teaches God’s Word. Through her wise counsel and mentorship over the years, Kris has personally taught me so much about motherhood, maturity in Christ, and loving other women and ministering to their hearts.

This was a great reminder of who I do not want to be. I struggle with all of the negative points on the left side of the chart. I am going to trust God more to help rid me of those things. I have been challenged.

This is a very good study and one worth repeating and reviewing. I knew “pride” was a sin, but I didn’ t see it so much in my life, but God did! I am so thankful for 1 John 1:9 !!
